Moooving Before Winter ? Start Planning NOW in Wisconsin !

“I want to move before winter” is the echo we sometimes snowmanhear from future Sellers and Buyers. We sure understand wanting to your next “happily ever after” before the snow flies and driveways and sidewalks become skating rinks. ‘Hard to think about now with 90 degree temperatures !  Let’s look at the calendar…First…you will want to call us for an “inside/out” valuation…bye bye bright paint colors, old wallpaper, Trips to donate what you no longer want/need, Painteroutside maintenance from painting trim, fences, garages to gutter guards and making sure the front door says “welcome” to Buyers.Know that financing can take 35-45 for the person buying your home so preparations and a schedule of what you will  need done when is important. If you are in need of contractors…give us a call.  We will tell you where we believe the line is between the “have to do” to get your home in shape and the “could do” that would offer you a greater return on your real estate investment. Valuations are FREE….call us anytime !  Forget whatever you have heard about “selling in the Keyspring” …the market is typically more crowded and you will get less for your home; real estate is about supply & demand.

Picture yourself in your next...Happily ever after...and know that Sally K. & David L. Hanson are here to help you both Selling and Buying to make that next dream home a reality.

This has been a consumer information post brought to you by Sally K. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with EXP Realty, honored to be of service to Sellers and Buyers for all things real estate in southeastern Wisconsin.

Lots of folks seem to be coming down here to Florida to look around and see if they can escape those cold winters.

I hope that I never have to experience a Wisconsin winter, I have heard stories about them.  We have a lot of people that live here in the winter that are from Wisconsin.

This is a good suggestion for sellers wanting to move in the winter, but oh no, I don't even like seeing the photo of those cute smiling snowmen...

All I can say, Sally, is I am soooo happy to be living where the winter issue is not a big consideration for buyers or sellers. Hate the thought of cold, snow, and ice.

It is only a consideration if people MAKE IT ONE Nina Hollander ...Traditionally our best sales are 4th and 1st quarter with less inventory...Though the less inventory thing seems not to know a season at the moment.  You can always get warmer...not sooo much with the "getting cooler" thing !

Hi Sally... I remember the days of showing property through snow storms in NYC and the cold wind knocking you off your feet blowing from the East River over to the Hudson River. Not something I've missed in the last 20 years. I'm one of those people who would always rather be a bit warm than cold... but I know everyone's different. My brother prefers it to be cold.

Sally, I had an email yesterday with the same sentiments, and we do need to get together to put that list together of what could, or needs to be done.  Great post for your local homeowners.

Sally and David there is a delicate balance sometimes between doing what needs to be done to put a houses best foot forward for sale, and spending money needlessly.  Sellers need to consult a expert like you to advise them before they start spending money.
