Ballantyne Breakfast Club: Annual Back-To-School Meeting: August 11

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executive | Charlotte, NC

  Annual Back-To-School Meeting

Sponsored By The Ballantyne Breakfast Club

One of the best attended meetings each year, the  Ballantyne Breakfast Club's August 11th annual Back-to-School meeting is a great opportunity to meet the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent, Clayton Wilcox, who along with members and representatives from CMS, will provide an update on the accomplishments of the last school term, as well as discuss goals and objectives for the coming school term. The meeting also provides the public an opportunity to directly address questions to Superintendent Wilcox and other school representatives.

Ballantyne Breakfast Club 2018 Back To School Meeting

All Ballantyne Breakfast Club meetings are open to the public at no cost. Founded in 2001 as a communication form, The Ballantyne Breakfast Club is now in it's 17th successful year of providing opportunities for Ballantyne and South Charlotte residents to meet and to learn about community events and priorities relating to local development, rezoning, education, transportation, safety and city/county government. Ballantyne Breakfast Club's slogan that "an informed community is a better community," is spot on.

Whether you've lived in Ballantyne/South Charlotte for many years or are a newcomer, the Ballantyne Breakfast Club meetings are a "must go" to stay on top of neighborhood developments. But keep in mind, you don't need to live in Ballantyne to be welcomed to Ballantyne Breakfast Club meetings.

Nina,

This is a great service for the Ballantyne community.  It makes those who run the schools visible and approachable.  And that is what matters.  A

What a wonderful idea and I need to check to see if anything similar is in our area. Even though I don't have children I know that the schools play such an important role in the community.

Gabe Sanders hi Gabe... schools play such an important role in our community in maintaining property values that this meeting is as well attended by those of us without kids as those with kids.

Joe Pryor hi Joe... the Ballantyne Breakfast Club started small 17 years ago (because Ballantyne was small) and has grown to attract a lot of people from south Charlotte... helps us get all the city movers and shakers in to make presentations.

Bob "RealMan" Timm hi Bob... all it takes is some very dedicated volunteers to set up this kind of a program and keep it running. Of course, the key word is volunteers.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... community leaders happily come out to the BB Club meetings, but I know they often leave feeling a bit "roughed up" (albeit in a nice southern way). The people who attend the BB Club meetings are pretty opinionated and when they want information they'll squeeze it out.

Joan Cox hi Joan... I don't know about new families, who are busy settling in right now before school starts, but I can tell you that those of us who've been here for longer than a minute attend and put these people through their paces. Of course, by now, we know the hot button issues and the hard questions to ask.

Brian England hi Brian... this meeting always gets a big turnout because no one is really happy with how our schools seem to be run at the end of the day (and in some cases, rightly so).

Hi Nina- what a great way for the community to get to know what's going on in the community and to be able to ask leaders questions and get to know them as well.  Sheri Sperry - MCNE® I can't believe your school is already starting.

Endre Barath, Jr. hi Endre... for me, by 9am, the day is coming on being half over! I'm always up and ready to go by 6am. But don't talk to me about dinner meetings because by then I'm done for the day.
