. We write posts about our "magical" purple envelope mailing lists from time to time as of our best sources of lead generation. It is a ritual every month, on or about the 15th to a variety of different market segments. We add to our data bases as we meet new people and hundreds of envelopes get mailed with different kinds of information for different target audiences.
How long is long enough to be on a mailing list ? We recently had someone contact us for whom we will list two properties,...drum roll please. We sold a property for him 10 years ago. There is no "magic time" to "declutter" your mailing list. Truth is...people stay in their homes longer than they used to....and you have to encourage the people on the list to have an ear open for the words that are "magical" to a real estate agent's ears...Relocate, Retire, Snowbird, Upsize, Downsize, single story...tuning their ears will help to tune your referrals to a higher pitch ! Don't limit your list to just that buyer or seller if you have met...the parents, the children...expand that reach....and Keep it going...regularly....with information of value. It "pays to valuable"....be the authority...be the trusted expert...and be prepared for a shower of referrals.
