Why is there no one out there creating free programs for home inspectors? An army of programmers just whittling away for that perfect application for us lowly real estate inspectors to use for our business. Maybe we are just not worth it. Alright, this mock complaint should come to an end; you are here because of the title of this piece.
Do you need a robust program for presenting your listings on your website? Pictures, video tours, and data uploaded easily to highlight that home that you wish to move can be had for free (but it would be nice of you to donate a little to the developers). I came across this open source application for Realtors at Open Realty. From what I read, I think that it is a pretty flexible program for Relators who want a good way to present their listings on the net. I wandered through the forums, and the programmers seem to be helpful. You can even make suggestions for what you would like to see added onto this software.
This app also appears to give you some data on your visitors. It allows you to create a membership form, so you will be gathering information on the people coming to your site to view a home. I am big proponent of open source developments, so my bias may be tilted, but I think that these developers bring a true passion to these projects. I always imagine these apps to be more secure, since the developers are looking into the programs to find ways to improve them, but I know that is not always the case.
There was a button for free hosting of this site; however, I did not look into it. If you are working on your website, or re-engineering it, this software may provide you with a good way to present listings to perspective clients, and it is free, so you may want to check it out.
