. We have two feline children, Magic is 18 and a half....and Dini.....a/k/a Houdini Alpha Hanson is six. Now,...before you think...well that's poor "family planning"....Know that Dini arrived after Cosmo left us at almost 19 years of age.
Magic was the runt of the litter...had to rescued from under the porch and so tiny and not quick to catch on to "cat like things". David fed hime every couple hours until he figured that out on his own. He also didn't on to the whole "give yourself a bath" thing. Cosmo...(named after Seinfeld character cuz he had big feet and was a little bit clumsy) was a great big brother. Magic would sit in the sunlight and let Cosmo give him a bath...no incentive to learn for a long time ! Under his sleek black coat is a techno-mind...he helps David...his only friend..guide the mouse over transactions before he takes his place in the sunshine for his afternoon nap. His gray whiskers come and go in number ...he tirelessly and bravely "chases" birds, squirrels, chipmunks and all things two and four legged safely from his side of the patio doors.
Dini, unlike his older brother is extremely social...greets every visitor at the door and performs his lengthy list of tricks....fetch, catch, beg, rollover, give you a hug,...a little shy on kisses and sing is occasionally. Rewarded with treats he would perform . for hours...we get tired waaay before he does htths of her life. Lucky for Dini, Mom had already fallen in love with him when he "mistook" the tiny hearing aids on the nightstand for cat toys and chewed them to pieces. He knew how to redeem himself...always sitting on her feet as she read in the great room and sleeping with her nap and every night at her feet with one eye open.
Far beyond being her slumber party partner...if Mom wanted a glass of water...or help of any kind..Dini would immediately leave his "post" at the bottom of the bed and come into our room and Meow loudly to let us know she wanted something....and until we got up and took care of whatever she needed, he would rest...or be quiet and return to his post.
Cat day is every day at the Hanson House....that is what Mom used to say about "Children's Day." Magic and Dini after all, are our children.
This has been a true to life post brought to you by Sally K.& David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with EXP Realty honored to be Magic & Dini's parents...and to be serving southeastern Wisconsin for all thing real estate.
