Let's face it, if you are looking for something to do on a Saturday in Columbia, SC you could pick a lot worse things than an opportunity to learn something new and gain a little knowledge. And given the fact that the new school year is right around the corner, reading a good book may very well be beneficial to getting the little people back in the groove of education. Of course, full grown adults without a child in sight can find plenty of good in a visit to a Richland County public Library.
The specimen in the pictures is of the Sandhill branch located in The Village at Sandhill, an outdoor shopping mall in Northeast Columbia. The complex also houses Richland School District Two offices.
This amazing state of the art facility houses an astonishing amount of books of all kinds from literary classics, to new age and of course children's books. My little people love this place. There are programs throughout the Summer that reward children for reading as well. There are events throughout the year like story time and other competitions as well.
In addition to the indoor areas within this library, there are also outdoor patio areas where you can curl up with a good book and enjoy some fresh air. There are 11 branches located throughout Richland County, all with their own unique feel. I would recommend visiting any of them on any given Saturday.
The Sandhill library is located at 763 Fashion Drive Columbia, SC 29223.
