I'm right handed, as so is my wife.  Both of our parents were right handed.  All of our kids are lefties.  Interesting

My coaches loved that I could play sports as a leftie or a rightie Debe Maxwell, CRS I was the sneak switch hitter in softball and they never saw me coming spiking the ball in volleyball!

Very interesting post about lefties.  I wish I had known all this when I was younger. I could have used it to my advantage on resumes.  LOL   I do believe we are more adaptable and that serves us well in many ways, doesn't it?   I became quite ambitextrous over the years.  I suppose it's a combination of living in a world of "tools" for right-handed people and being taught things in groups where they wouldn't teach me independently as a lefty... like golf and bowling.  Thankfully, I didn't live during the time when they "made" people switch, like my Dad.  They were downright cruel to lefties in the early days, and didn't understand it was actually a special gift.   Thanks for the post, Debe.

Good morning Debe - Happy Left Handers Day.  It is great to see the posts all of the AR lefts.  I agree that you are all very creative.

Hi Debe, When I started first grade the nuns kept trying to change me until finally my parents complained to the principal nun. They backed off but never let me forget I was "different". My father's older brother was also left handed and played a huge role in making me feel better about myself. Now I eat and write left handed but do everything else right handed.

Hi Debe - I write left-handed and my left hand is definitely my dominant hand. I get what you say about adapting; we learned to do that, and that trait probably has helped us throughout our lives.

Thanks for this interesting post. Chef Dolores is left-handed but play golf right-handed. She is definitely smarter than me.

Love it! You mentioned a few things I'd never realized, like twice as likely to be a man?? Most of the lefties I know are women. Things that make you go "hmmm".

And I didn't know that lefties would recover from a stroke faster. That's really valuable information. 

Almost all the other facts make me proud to be a leftie, and I KNOW I'm in good company. ;-)

Only 8 of our presidents have been left-handed.  Michaelangelo was a leftie.

When I was in grade school you were supposed to tilt the page in a way that I could not do the cursive.  When the teacher wasn't looking I tilted it the other way.  That deviant behavior has continued... ha

In some cultures being slammed a leftie is a shame and mockery.

I play my guitar right handed.
