I've Got To Be Honest, I'm Really Not Into This Place

Services for Real Estate Pros with RealSatisfied

I've written a bunch about the emotional aspects of the home buying experience.

In a series of posts on Sex And Real Estate, I reviewed the excellent book by Marjorie Garber by the same name. The emotional triggers that cause us to fall in love with a home often overwhelm the "information" that is presented about. There's no denying it. I have personally rationalized away the fact that the home I was about to buy didn't have enough bedrooms because it just "felt like home." I was in love with it.

I couldn't resist posting this hilarious video. It illustrates just how strong these triggers can be. It wouldn't be so funny if it weren't so true. :)

Jeff, that was absolutely great. Sometimes a house just feels right.  I always say that I can work with anything as long as it has some basics. That video just cracks me up though. Thanks for posting.

I once had a listing with the address 666 and some people refused to even look at it because of that.  The sellers just laughed.

Haha! Great video and post. I agree, so many people seem to do that with houses. I wonder what causes it.

Jeff, completely bizzare. Way over the top, but completely in the realm of believability! ;-)

I love it, love it! The agent discloses it all so cheerfully.... "the house is actually permeated by unspeakable evil "....  "basically a shapeless mass of malevolent energy".... And yeah, Kristi, I love that e-trade commercial, too. I think the phrase "underestimated the creepiness" has worked its way into my regular thought processes.....

P.S.  I think you need to watch it 3 or 4 times to pick up all the little subtleties ... but it's short...

Hi Jeff, that was just too funny and perhaps too real at the same time. I suppose there are REALTORS like this and it was certainly entertaining if nothing else. How do find all this stuff?
