Trump vs China, Part II

Well, the battle is on.

Trump just wanted to stop China from dumping steel and aluminum, but China thought he was just another weak American politician.

They put tariffs on grains and products from the mid-west. Trump was supposed to cave.

Surprise!

So Trump upped the ante. Now he is proposing hundreds of billions of dollars of tariffs on all manner of Chinese goods.

China is either going to cave to Trump’s wishes, or they are going to collapse.

Their economy is in free-fall. Their stock markets have lost a huge percentage of their wealth. Their banks are highly leveraged and ready to collapse. Their unemployment rate is much higher (than ours or even what theirs was). If we don’t buy their crap, what are they going to do with it?

The Chinese Premier is in office for life, but that doesn’t mean he can disregard the pain he has brought unto his people.

China was spoiled by decades of everybody looking the other way while they “stole” markets and intellectual property.

China is one of the largest economies in the world, but under WTO rules they are treated as a “developing” nation as if they were on a par with Zimbabwe. They don’t want to give up their advantages.

Surprise!

China is learning that the game has changed. If they don’t want their economy to totally collapse, they need to straighten up and fly right.

Time is very short.

China WILL capitulate BEFORE the mid-term elections.

Trump wins (again). We win. More products will say “Made in America” just  like the good ol’ days of the 1940s and 50s. And that means more factories will be buzzing in the USA instead of China. More jobs, higher wages, more money in the economy.

Happy Days Are Here Again.

Get ready for the BOOM.

Most of the “new” factories will open in the RIGHT TO WORK STATES.

Because these states have not had major manufacturing plants in the past, there is a deficit of housing available for all these new workers.

Home builders will be going great guns over the next few years. The real estate markets in these states is going to catch fire.

Opportunities are rife.

Thank you Mr. President! Thank you China!

Make America Great Again.

Yes, and most people do not understand that.  Nor will they ever.  They can barely see past their nose.

Your analysis seems to be spot on!  There is going to be some short term pain but it will be worth it in the end to have a more level playing field!

Happy days are here again, indeed, Bill. Couldn't have said it better, myself. And I didn't... you did...

Well Sharon & Bruce Walter There are probably many soybean farmers in your neck of the woods. Yes, they will "feel" some short-term pain, but the future looks reaaly good.

Thank you.

Bill it is about time this country gets a back bone and stands up for us, and the rest of the world better learn to deal with that.

Trump's 20.83% duty on wood shingles from Canada has increase the cost of a roof replacement in our neighborhood by about $5,000.

Well Roy Kelley All I can do is suggest using an American product or waiting until this is over.

If you were a Wisconsin dairy farmer you would be happy to see Trump push back against the Canadians, who just don't know how to "play fair."

Happy Days are indeed here again Bill Roberts it's long past time that we had a business professional in charge instead of more politicians who have no clue how to run anything...but their mouths.

Amen to that Lisa Von Domek But I fear that he will suffer a huge cost when he leaves office. That will put a damper on others following in his footsteps.
