Leo Carrillo Film Festival
Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park in Carlsbad
Summer is NOT over yet, and with warm weather and pleasant evenings, you can still enjoy time outdoors, AND a historic film festival, at the former ranch of Hollywood actor Leo Carrillo.
The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park in Carlsbad is hosting the 14th Annual Leo Carrillo Film Festival on 3 consecutive Friday nights…August 24, August 31 and September 7.
The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park is a wonderful preservation of the land, hacienda, and other buildings owned by popular Hollywood film and TV star Leo Carrillo (perhaps best known as Pancho in the 1950s TV series “The Cisco Kid”).
A visit to this beautiful park, and its popular peacocks, in the heart of the Rancho Carrillo master planned community is well worth it, and it’s free!
The Leo Carrillo Film Festival features rare and historic films featuring Hollywood actor, Leo Carrillo. And it’s FREE!
Movies start at sunset, and the park opens at 5 PM. You can take a tour of the Hacienda 1 hour before the movie starts – do so if you can, it’s great fun!
There will be beverages and gourmet snacks available for you to buy. Be sure to bring your low-back chair, a flashlight, a blanket for those chilly coastal evenings, and warm clothes.
Before each feature film you can enjoy “The Cisco Kid,” the TV series that is Carrillo’s claim to fame!
August 24 - Manhattan Melodrama (1934)
August 31 - Mr. Antonio (1929)
September 7 - Coco (2017 – not a Carrillo film but wonderful!)
The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park is located at 6200 Flying LC Lane off Melrose Drive, south of Palomar Airport Road.
You must register online for tickets – 4 per family – and seats are going fast!
