I've always referred to this subdivision as Cottonwood Circle and it was not until composing this report that I realized that the actual name is "The Cottonwoods". One of my closest friends live in The Cottonwoods and this is a subdivision I've always thought I'd be very comfortable living in.
The homes in The Cottonwoods we built largely in the late 1980's and 90's with a one or two built after 2000. They range in price (assessors value) from $150,000. to $300,000. Currently there is one active listing. That listing is a 2 bedroom 894 sq' home with a double garage listed for $169,900. ($190.04 per sq'). In the last year 5 homes have sold in The Cottonwoods.
Here is a sampling of the homes you will find in The Cottonwoods.
There are several things that I find appealing about The Cottonwoods. I like that all the homes appear to be well maintained with manicured lawns. The Cottonwoods is composed of only single family homes and to the best of my knowledge none of them are used as rentals. I like the security of only one entrance/exit to the community (this of course would be great for those with concerns about traffic and children).
I like the solitude of this community BUT that also leads to what some folks would consider a negative... very poor "walk-ability".
The Cottonwoods is located in the Edison school district which is the district I have the most requests for by parents of school age children. While walk-ability is poor access to the City is very good due to it's location just off of the Burdick Expressway. Many would like that it's location is very close to the Minot Golf Course and the Maysa Arena for indoor ice skating.
