Lake Ray Hubbard real estate is definitely a unique adventure that I have always enjoyed being a part of.
The popularity of this huge lake has vastly increased over the past few years due to the vision of a few who knew its value. With shorelines encompassing almost 23,000 acres and depths of fish filled water up to 40 feet, this now very popular lake has become home to so many.
Completed in 1970, this man-made lake was built as a reservoir and through the majority of the years, that was its sole purpose. However, with vision for growth as well as concern for eroding shorelines, things started to move in a new direction that is evident in the present state of Lake Ray Hubbard. Waterfront residents banded together to get retaining walls approved to stop some of the erosion taking place and took it even further to get approval for boat docks. The action of the few who took this initiative paved the way for a whole new perspective to the lake.
As approvals for retaining walls and boat docks went from city to city (Garland, Rowlett, Rockwall and Heath), property values started to rise. Following strict boat dock guidelines on lot size, aesthetics, etc., excitement for this lake started to spread. Not only can you get wonderful sunrise or sunset views (depending on which side you are on) but now you can walk straight out your back door and go to your boat or jet ski parked in your own dock. Summertime changed dramatically for the better for so many residents who took advantage of the new option!
Lake Ray Hubbard is the closest large lake to Dallas TX that allows boat docks to be built. Close to major roads (I-30, PGBT, 635) many commute to work in areas such as Dallas, Plano and Richardson. Others have invested in the Lake Ray Hubbard area for vacation (second) homes. A beautiful lake that is now enjoyed by so many!
With Lake Ray Hubbard's increasing popularity, developers took notice. 
With places like The Harbor, The Hilton and Bass Pro Shops, it is still steadily growing. The newest venture which is at Bayside in Rowlett Tx, is getting close to move in ready for new construction homes and luxury apartments. A lot of buzz is going around on other things that will be in the works soon. It will be grand whatever they decide to do, so stay posted on what Bayside will be offering in the future development.
