New California Law - New Sales Disclosure Sure to Follow

I read that last week our legislators in Sacramento passed Assembly Bill 969. It goes back to the Senate next week for concurrence, and if approved again, will go to Gov. Brown for his signature to become law in California.

This legislation which was prompted by our devastating wildfires, will require newly sold and installed electric garage door openers to have a battery backup.

The all have an emergency pull cord so that the doors cann be opened from the inside  easily

Sure we all know that. But, this is California so we have to go beyond the pull cord & force all residents whether in a high fire area are not when they build or replace, the only available garage door openers in California will be the more expensive ones with the battery backups.
