LocalTel Communications is my internet and TV services provider. They also offer phone and security services for residential and business customers. The "Local" part of their name means they are a local business, not a national company.
When it was time to change service providers I decided to go with LocalTel for my service provider for three main reasons.
#1 I like supporting local businesses.
#2 I thought I could save money by changing to LocalTel
#3 I had heard good things about their customer services.
As it turns out, I didn't save money because I have added some additional premium services since I signed up. I'm actually paying about 15% more than I was with my last provider.
Will I ever change. No! Why? Because their customer service is amazing. I have never had to hold more than 30 seconds when I have called with an issue. These issues are usually my fault for pushing the wrong button on my remote and not being able to figure out what I did. They are always extremely friendly and efficient in getting me back on track.
Good customer service is worth a lot to me. So, if you think money is the only thing your prospects and clients care about... Think Again!

I'm willing to pay a little more if I feel the customer service is outstanding. Sure beats being placed on hold for 15-30 minutes or longer

Hello Carol Williams, paying extra for great customer service is good. Some time when I get a bid for wor, I tell them I will pay them a extra 10%. Funny how they do 25% more with better materials.

I'm glad you found a telecom provider that makes you happy, Carol. Among my friends, that realm can be especially frustrating. For the most part, I have been content with my provider this last year. But, they seem to have upped their game a bit from previous years when they were horrendous.

I'm sure it's not an option in many places and you're stuck with some national conglomerate with a monopoly. That never bodes well for customer service.

I feel the same way about Apple products, Carol - the customer service makes the pricier products well worth the investment...not just once but, each and every time I buy a new one!
