This week, I wanted to go over something that is relatively new and not everyone is aware of on YouTube and that is... #hashtags!
Yes, finally Google has made hashtags available to use on YouTube which makes it much easier for people to discover your videos and your YouTube channel.
Since hashtags are new on YouTube, you might first want to check out a post by Google giving an overview as well as their policies about using hashtags in videos...
The process of adding hashtags to your videos is super easy and straightforward. For example, let's take a look at a video I posted a couple of weeks ago.
- first, go to the Creator Studio section of your YouTube account
- click on the edit button for the video you want to add hashtags to
- in the description section of your video (right under the title section) is where you'll add your hashtags
- the screenshot below shows an example of the hashtags I added to my video
Once you've added the hashtags to your video, go to your YouTube channel, click on the video and you'll see your hashtags (i.e. #soundscape) will now be showing right under the video, just above the title. It's that easy and will make your videos much easier to find for people searching for that topic or hashtag.
Still on the topic of videos, as promised in my previous post...
YouTube, music and the answer is YES!
Today I'm sharing the links where you can download 3 music tracks I'm releasing for use in videos on YouTube, Vimeo, etc...
I'm releasing these tracks under a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License which basically means you can use my music in both personal and commercial videos for free as long as you list me in the credits somewhere below your video.
The only attribution I ask from people who use my music in their videos is to add something in the text somewhere below the video like...

See John Henry's post and video as an example...

Here are the links to where you can download these tracks if you'd like to use them...
