The Houston area real estate market posted another record month in July 2018, with 8,108 single-family homes sold. This represents an increase of 3.4% over July 2017. The average sold home price increased by 2.4% over 2017, to $306,000. The median home price was up 6% to $243,500. If you are selling your Houston home, this is good news. The market is responding to continued job growth and new residents that are moving to Harris County and the surrounding areas. Inventory of single-family homes has also been a factor, with a slight decrease over 2017 at a 4.2 month supply.
