Windmill Food Hall is Coming to Carlsbad
One of the hot trends in dining for foodie lovers, the Food Hall, is coming to Carlsbad at the iconic Windmill, built in 1982 and the original site of Pea Soup Andersen’s Restaurant, followed by TGI Friday's.
The Windmill Food Hall is due to open in September, after some delays, and no doubt will appeal to a wide range of foodies, given what we are being told is the vendor line-up, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
Stay tuned for updates!
The Windmill Food Hall will have multiple eateries, a common seating area, library, bar, and more including monthly events.
It's in an easy-to-access location off Palomar Airport Road and the 5 freeway, across the street from the popular Carlsbad Premium Outlets Mall, and adjacent to the Carlsbad by the Sea Resort.
You can bet I will be checking it out after it opens!!
Carlsbad has added a number of restaurants in the last year or less; these immediately come to mind:
7 Mile Kitchen recently opened at the new Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa (adjacent to the new Westin resort) - no doubt named after the 7 miles of Carlsbad Beaches!
Bluewater Grill in Carlsbad Village
Crackheads, with full outdoor bar and dining in a shipping container in the heart of Carlsbad Village (the 2nd container-based place to dine here, joining the Choice Juicery)
Pier 101 on the Coast Road in the Village (a collection of cafeteria-style eateries)
Shorehouse Kitchen on State Street in the Village
And there are others… it’s too hard to keep up.
I can see my dining-out budget will have to expland considerably.
