Sunrise or Sunset in Arizona

Sunrises and Sunsets are pretty dramatic in Arizona - it's a symphony of colors ranging from reds and oranges to various shades of blue-grey and green. I often see on Facebook my friends capturing an amazing sunrise or sunset and posting it. That's what those amazing colors and shapes make us do, pause our daily activity and admire the beauty.

One of the recent exhibitions at the Hergerber Theatre Center was dedicated to the beauty of Sunrises and Sunsets. As I promised last month, I am sharing here on my blog some of the exhibits from the Gallery.

One of the great things about attending the opening reception for the themed exhibitions at the Herberger Art Gallery is that we can meet with the artists and hear about the inspiration behind their art and the way they created their painting or photo.

 

The Art Gallery is open open Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and during theater performances, and by appointment. The address is 222 East Monroe Street, Phoenix AZ 85004, downtown.

it is a beautiful part of the country where in parts of it you can see for miles and miles... that's not how it works where I live. I love to drive through Arizona.

Lucky you to be surrounded by so much beauty!  I've never been a morning person.  The only time I saw sunrise growing up was on Easter Sunrise service. I decided at a young age that sunrise looked like sunset just on the other side of the house :-)

Steffy Hristova - I am so happy to see your post featured. Congratulations!

I've been to AZ and I must say, there's something in the atmosphere that causes amazing changes in the sky both sunrise and sunset. It is as if each time you see one, there's a great energy. I always thought it had to do with the peaceful Native American Hopi Tribe that occupied the land and left their spirits behind. 

Your photos are gorgeous. I would imagine seeing the gallery in person is even more special. Thanks for this great post! I enjoyed it very much.

Back when I lived in Mesa and Phoenix they were both the same, But when I worked at PVNGS and could be up on the top of a unit on the night shift sunrises were the best. Then when I moved up by Prescott to Chino Valley and looked east over the valley the sunrises were spectacular.

Steffy, ever since I left the military and that was a long time ago:)) I have only seen a handful of sun rises, more sunsets though... so with that said I enjoy sunrise through the pictures like yours on AR:))Endre
