Ask An Ambassador: Wrapping Text Around a Photo
It looks better when there is a margin between your text and your photos and the text wraps around your photo. It takes a couple of steps. The blog editor has become more challenging to navigate and sometimes posts disappear.
May I suggest you write your posts in another editor like Google Docs and copy and paste it over? That way you will never totally lose your compositions. All you need to have is a Gmail account and you can have Google Docs and many other Google products. Write your post, check the spelling and then copy it over by highlighting your post, then hold down the Control and C button at the same time to copy. To paste hold down the Control V button and it will paste where your cursor is located.
Now to learn how to insert a photo, put your cursor at the place you would like to insert a photo and then click on the landscape (picture) icon next to the chain on the blog editor menu bar. A window will dropdown and open. Click on the plus sign then click on Drop in or upload button unless the photo is already in your photo library or you can upload a photo from your computer.
Make sure the photo is sized small enough to load quickly, I recommend not more than 1000 megapixels. Once it is inserted into the dropdown window go to the advanced tab in the dropdown window. To get a nice white space (margin) around your photos I like to add around 20 pixels in both the vertical and horizontal fields in the advanced window space fields. I also select if I want left hand, right hand or center alignment of the photo.
If you forget to justify while your photo window is open and if the photo is still highlighted, you can justify (align) it by using the editor bar and the alignment selections there. If you have already clicked off the photo it will be too late to go back and you will have to do it in the HTML coding.
This will wrap your text and allow you to add a margin and justify the position of the photo. I also hope by writing in Google Docs you will have less frustration without losing your work. Best of luck.
