Michael and I have love going to concerts and music festivals, and even though it’s been awhile since we’ve seen a show in Boise, the Knitting Factory is one of Boise’s best concert venues. So, knowing this, we both felt we had to go listen to a new band we had never seen before as well as add it to the list of Boyles Boise: 52 things to do and see.
In addition to researching some of today’s newest bands and artists, we also did a little background research on the Knitting Factory. So before we get into the band we chose and songs we enjoyed, here’s what we found out about the venue:
The Knitting Factory was founded in 1987 and over the years has grown into Knitting Factory Entertainment (KFE). Though primarily known for their venues — both clubs and concert houses located in Brooklyn, Boise, Spokane and Reno — KFE also promotes national tours, produces the hit Broadway musical Fela!, operates The Federal Bar Gastro Pub and The Bow & Truss in North Hollywood and is a partner with record labels Partisan and Knitting Factory Records. Another venture, Knitting Factory Management handles the careers of emerging and critically acclaimed recording artists both in the U.S. and overseas. It is the West Coast artist management wing of KFE.
