Hurricane Florence Preparations in Kentlands
This is a Kentlands Citizens Assembly Announcement
As Hurricane Florence approaches the east coast, we are asking Kentlands residents to begin to prepare for a worst case scenario: high winds, rising water and power outages.
The KCA landscapers are cleaning common area storm drains and grates in advance of the predicted landfall on Friday morning and picking up debris in the community. We've secured loose items around the Clubhouse that may be impacted by high winds and suggest that residents do the same. Please put outdoor furniture, grills, trash cans, etc. in your garage or in the instance of basketball hoops, lay them down. Take in flags, potted plants, umbrellas, etc that could become flying projectiles.
Trash pick up will take place on Friday as scheduled, the trash removal company will start promptly at 7:00 am in order to finish as early as possible. Please place your cans out the night before but no later than 7:00 am Friday morning. Please plan to pull in the cans as early as possible after they have been emptied.
Residents should fill their car with gas, charge their cell phones and have a supply of water and batteries on hand. We do not anticipate any closures at the Clubhouse although a power outage would impact the use of the fitness equipment.
The landscapers are prepared to answer calls for service over the weekend for downed trees in common areas. Please alert the General Manager, via e-mail if possible, about downed trees on the property at GeneralManager@KentlandsUSA.com or call the Clubhouse at 301-948-2071. Street trees are the responsibility of the City of Gaithersburg and trees on private property are the responsibility of the individual property owner.
