Wordless Wednesday: An Organized Garage

Do You have an Organized Garage?

pegboard with labels in garage

I showed a property yesterday that was vacant. What really impressed me was the garage. Not because it was empty - which is always nice when showing a home, especially for buyers who are particular interested in the garage - but how organized I could tell it was in the past.

Along one wall was a pegboard, perhaps 15 feet long. There were numerous places on the pegboard for hanging different tools, and EACH one (at least 20) was labelled. I don't know if that was to help the owner of the tools or to assist whoever might take one down to be sure to get in back in the right place...or else!!

I don't even hang my tools up, let alone label where they are supposed to go!

Jeff,

Now that is very impressive, and we are inspired.  However, we don't have that many tools, mostly garden tools and Ron's bonsai tools.  A

Sounds like a good project William Feela  We keep tackling this a little at a time which is not really getting us where we would like to be very quickly. Just not my favorite thing to do!

Well I wish I had seen the garge filled with the tools, all in their places. THAT would have been impressive.

My mom had a pegboard with her pots/pans in the kitchen when we were growing up. They drew the outline of each one so we'd know where to put them when we put the dishes/etc away. It looked crummy but served the same purpose!

Having an organized garage is a good thing, I see so many people that use their garage for storage, rather than for their vehicles, haha.

Jeff- I am very impressed with any organized garage that I see. We have shelves and a large tool thing with drawers for organization. The only issue is the "user" who shall remain nameless has a problem putting them back where they belong.

HI Jeff... I closed on a house this week with a garage that was more finished than the interiors of many homes. Simply jaw-dropping!

Hello Jeff --- quite impressive.   Whatever the reason,  I am sure it made an impact on each prospective buyer who viewed it.

It may not have looked nice but what a great idea.

We had a client from our art gallery years ago who had all the drawers and cabinets in her kitchen label for her children. Only time I've ever seen that!

Hi Brian England

That is so true, especially here in SoCal. But without an attic or basement where ARE you going to put all that stuff?
