How fun for those who like OktoberFest.  Funny enough, in Germany it is celebrated at the end of September, and I have always wondered why they call it Oktober Fest.  I queried a German couple in Hawaii about this and they did not have the answer...just one of those life's mysteries.  LOL A

Hi Jeff... of course, if you're in Munich by the time you have your Oktoberfest, their's is over. This sounds like a really fun event and I'd sure check it out if I lived in Carlsbad.

I will ask our good German friends, too, just to see what they say. But Google says it started with the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Theresa, back in 1810 on Oct. 12. But even the big Oktoberfest in Munich starts in September, as do some of the festivals in my area. Septemberfest doesn't quite have the same ring!
