I happened to catch this helicopter hovering over the #1 tee at Castlewoods Golf & Country Club while dozens of golf balls were dropped onto the course. This event is in conjunction with the Chamber Cup Golf Tournament sponsored by the Flowood Chamber of Commerce. Golf balls were raffled off and a lucky winner walked away with $500!

Sharon & Bruce Walter - no-one was on the course. They were standing on the deck at the clubhouse watching. I saw a few balls fall into the water hazard though!
It was a new experience for me, too Sharon Tara. People were able to purchase golf balls, so I suppose they were numbered and the closest to the hole won the $500. I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time!

Yes! Debbie Reynolds - I had never seen a "ball drop" but it was a fundraiser for the golf tournament. You could purchase a golf ball, they were marked then dropped onto the course. The closest one to the hole won $500. It happened around 1 p.m. Completely unexpected and I was lucky to witness the entire thing.
