Charlotte Warehouse Sale Fall Event Postponed Due To Hurricane Florence

George Souto hi George.... well, this is the first delay announcement. We'll have to see if there's another after tomorrow.

Ginny Gorman hi Ginny... at this stage nothing much to do but hunker down and stay at home... they are asking people in Charlotte to avoid going out and to keep roads clear.

Joan Cox hi Joan... so far, so good. Been raining on and off all day, but power is on. We'll see what happens overnight as they are saying the brunt of it will hit tonight.

Dee Toohey good morning, Dee... so far so good at my end. Had a very brief loss of power overnight, but that's it... just tons and tons of rain. I feel as if I should have been building an ark.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson hi Sally and David... Charlotte is pretty much shut down now since Friday to keep roads clear and it's been raining steadily for 24 hours and we have more hours of rain to come. Remains to be seen what will be open as of tomorrow.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila and Larry... Central Avenue is a pretty long street and quite a ways away from me. It hasn't stopped raining in over 24 hours and not likely to for the rest of the day... but so far, so good in my neighborhood.

Scott Godzyk thanks, Scott, for checking in. It's been raining steadily for going on almost 30 hours now and we still have probably at least another 12 hours of rain ahead of us. Fortunately, no flooding (yet) in my neighborhood or downed trees. The tree in front of my home lost a small limb. We lost power very briefly in the middle of the night but otherwise have not had any outages and hopefully we can get through the day without losing power. Winds seem to have died down a bit. But they are now evacuating west of us in the mountains, as the worry is floods and mud slides.

Will Hamm so far, so good, Will... but we still have much of the day ahead of us and anything can happen. But I'm staying hopeful. 

Amanda S. Davidson thanks for the good thoughts, Amanda. The rain was relentless... two straight days of it before it tapered off. In any case, we survived okay but just down the road lots of people are suffering from flooding and street closures.

Patricia Feager good morning, Patricia... thank you so much for all your care and hugs... we survived without any major issues in my end of south Charlotte, but we only need to go down the road a couple of miles to see flooding. But all around the state it's just terrible and as you said, surreal! The recovery from this will be long and hard for so many people. When they said last week that absolutely everyone in North Carolina would somehow be affected by this storm, they were so right.
