Post Flo Update for the OBX

Real Estate Agent with Sun Realty NC

Post Flo Update: I am happy to report that the northern Outer Banks was spared of significant damage from Hurricane Florence and that we are ready to get back to business as usual…I feel very fortunate to have dodged this storm.

Visitors are currently allowed access to areas of Dare County north of Oregon Inlet including Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manteo, Roanoke Island the Dare County mainland. Visitors traveling to Hatteras Island will be allowed access beginning Sunday, September 16 at 3:00 p.m. For those traveling to Hatteras Island, keep in mind that there is still standing water along areas of NC Highway 12. Slow down, proceed with caution and know that creating wake will cause damage to vehicles and nearby properties. A state of emergency remains in place for all of Dare County. Ocean conditions remain hazardous and ocean swimming remains prohibited.

Hugh, your post caught my eye because a few days ago we were thinking our annual trip to Corolla was cancelled but, we'll be headed down tomorrow. So grateful it wasn't as bad as expected, my fiance has family in OBX and we were so worried.
