Get Rid of the Refrigerator Magnets
Hi Debbie. This is my second pet peeve (after raised toilet lids) when it comes to listings.

This is a very good reminder to share with home sellers and their listing agents.
Such a great tip, i was in a home yesterday where they had all the kids school work for the last couple of years taped to the cabinets, not just on the fridge Debbie Reynolds
So true, that kind of scene distracts the buyers eyes, as they are curious as to what is on the fridge, rather than imganing the kitchen as theirs, haha.
I agree 100% always tell my sellers Debbie Reynolds the same thing it makes the kitchen look so much cleaner and less cluttered
Debbie, oh boy, how many homes do we show, where you cannot even SEE the refrigerator because of all the STUFF. A good listing agent would have caught that.
Hi Debbie Reynolds - Great info to share. Many folks don't realized that a frig with magnets and photos is a distraction. I had a listing where the refrigerator was unplugged which created a nice odor even though the frig was clean. I immediately plugged it back in to eliminate the smell.
Good afternoon Debbie - this is one place many people clutter. You are spot on. You need a clean clear refrigerator.
Oh yes Debbie, such good advice. We had a seller that would not remove the junk on her refrig...and buyers noticed the messy look!
Debbie are you saying all that cherished artwork is not a major selling point?
Hi Debbie- you make an excellent point. You don't want anything distracting a buyer while they try to fall in love with your home.
Yes, right, clear and put it in order.
My Mom always does this "cleaning" even for pictures. Not to mention for showings.
Thank you, Debbie Reynolds I was enjoying reading your blog.
Debbie Reynolds - one of my pet peeves is a cluttered refrigerator. I never did see any point to it; yet many continue to use the magnets and hang art and obsolete coupons and other junk. But something I saw on a listing presentation, after I got the listing was about a dozen magnets from other real estate agents and even though I never sent my sellers a magnet with my advertising on it, I got the listing!
Clean everything really helps everyone across the board. I love it for sure! Always helps to clean up. :)
I totally agree. I saw an MLS photo the other day of a new listing and the refrigerator was covered with stuff. It did not help make the room look sell-able.
Great post, and so true. Nothing worse than refrigerator covered in magnets! I also think that looking inside can provide some valuable info. Sloppy sellers can get the home looking good, but often forget about the inside of the refrigerator. If the home looks great, but the inside of the fridge is trashed it probably means the seller has not maintained the home all that well
Hello Debbie- - - a clean(inside and outside) is one of those subtle signs that often "speak" volumes like clean closets, organized drawers and/or a well-presented garage. Details matter. A lot.
One of my pet peeves...pictures taken with the gallery of magnets and
'''artwork" on the fridge !
I think a clean refrigerator (both inside and outside) is visually appealing and minimizes distractions while a buyer is viewing a home. Thank you for the blog.
