Hi Will Hamm! Thank you so much! We are fine and really have had little to deal with other than the prep. We actually lost power YESTERDAY after a tree fell on a line, knocking out about 1,600 homes around us. But, we were prepared with the new generator and thrilled to actually get to try it out! (Yeah, I know that sounds strange but, a LOT of effort went into getting that thing installed and it would have been sad to not get to use it...even if just for a short period of time)!

Hi Kathy Streib! It's amazing how many people who aren't on FB were back during the threats of the storm and the actual storm updates. I tried to keep it 'light' and upbeat but, honestly, I don't know how you do this every year. It was super stressful! For me, that says alot because I am RARELY ever stressed!

LOL George Souto - we're related somewhere down the family tree so, we think a lot alike!

Yeah, that's more along my normal lines, Inna Ivchenko!! We cheated with Krispy Kreme donuts during the storm on Saturday so, I had to eat something healthy!! 

LOL Joe Pryor! So, I always tell Ray that if I'm ever sick, to have plenty of mashed potatoes & gravy, mac & cheese and peanut butter..I can survive anything with those!  

For some reason, knowing that the tomatoes & basil were home-grown and the sauce homemade, that gave us comfort during the storm! Any other time, that would so not be comfort food, Lisa Von Domek! 

I don't have a green thumb, really - I just get lucky! 

It really does feel so good to slice a tomato that you grow and know that absolutely zero chemicals ever touched it.

Michael, it's SO easy-peasy! Slice mozzarella cheese, slice tomatoes and add a leaf of basil. Top with Balsamic Glaze (1/2C balsamic vinegar + 1/4C molasses, boiled and reduced by about 1/3 - about 5-6 minutes). And, of course, I add a pinch of pepper (to everything)!

Hi Curtis Van Carter! I am absolutely fine and am SOOOO thankful to say so! There are so many people who have lost everything and have so much re-building to do.

You're welcome, Roy Kelley! We do the same thing - I think it's better for us too - eating smaller amounts over a longer period of time!

Oh, I so agree, Pat Starnes-Front Gate Realty! I have a buyer that wanted to see the effects of the water a week later today on the home that they are buying and we were talking about how we couldn't believe it's been a week! They weren't so fortunate on their home that they are selling but, they're taking care of the issues...and the cause!

As for the sandwiches - YES! My absolute favorite! Duke's is my choice of mayo too!
