My Thoughts On Florence

Environment changes outside of our control, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, and dangerous weather conditions can leave people feeling overwhelmed, frightened, helpless, confused, and angry, especially when the realty of loss is catastrophic. But they also make others courageous, grateful, heroic, appreciative, and thankful.

When our basic needs (physiological, safety, belongings, dignity, and self-esteem) are threatened, there is a wave of human emotions for all people and creatures on earth, including plants, trees, aquatic life, animals, minerals, the food chain, property, infrastructure and the environment. For members and readers of ActiveRain with friends and family effected by Hurricane Florence, it creates a kinship of hearts and minds. Behind every cloud, there is a silver lining. It doesn't matter if you are a real estate agent, insurance representative, someone in sales, homeless, rich or poor, educated, or not, we are put on this earth to help others. I truly believe all lives matter.

It has certainly been an unusual year for weather patterns across the nation.  And, we've seen just about every kind of phenomena that Mother Nature can toss our way.

Myrl Jeffcoat - Weather patters are certainly unpredictable! Perhaps a wake-up call? Decision-makings are being tested. Challenges - many!

Could it be the best is not really yet to come but right now?

May goodness always come your way.

George Carlin said many funny things!

As for Florence and other dangerous weather events - they do tend to bring out the best in people; those who can help usually do. The amazing side of human nature usually shines in those moments.

Good morning Patricia Feager,

The weather patterns have been so unpredictable and with it come so many challenges! It often binds so many together when fighting the elements of Mother Nature together.

Hi Patricia... George Carlin has always been one of my favorite comedians and I loved seeing one of his shows in Las Vegas. I remember that weather forecast of his that you quoted. Also loved his forecast of "night will be followed by daylight." And going back to Florence, the dark nights of recent days will indeed by followed by daylight.

Great thoughts and you covered a lot of things, the weather seems nice, unless there is a lot of humidity along with it.  I do recall Myrl Jeffcoat being a fan of talk like a pirate day, haha.
