Housing Inventory moves up slightly here in GR.

 Here in Grand Rapids metro area there has been a slight improvement to the inventory crisis that we face here. Many stories of disgruntled buyer's who can't seem to find a place and other times they are facing multiple offer situations. Either one it tends to frustrate most people.  We are now sitting on 1.6 months of inventory versus 1.2 months. That may not sound like much to most people but it could be the difference between owning a home and sitting on the sidelines. I do feel the same pain as the buyer's I represent. I'm out here just like you looking for a home for myself. I look at the same homes and set appointments, and write offers just like you do.

 Yes it does get frustrating and I see it when people are resolved to just walk away and give up. I've been there myself. I’m in the process of searching thru the MLS looking for a home for me and my family. We need more inventory. There are so many qualified buyer’s who would love to be able to purchase their first home and others who are moving up to their second home or looking for a property to invest their money in. I remember when there was so much inventory out there and buyer’s had their pick in different areas and price ranges.  At this time that is a thing of the past. Who knows when the market will change? Your guess is as good as mine. I’ve worked within the market for many years and have helped hundreds of buyer’s achieve their dream of home ownership. I’ll continue to do so to the best of my ability. My hope is that as the months go by the inventory percentage goes up as well. We need to have a balance in this market. It’ll be the best of both worlds for everyone.
