Delray Beach...Still Celebrating Peace

Yesterday was the International Day of Peace but there’s no reason why we shouldn’t still keep it at the top of our list of things to do.

Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace. Buddha

For me, I’m going to do what the Dalai Lama has always said...Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Peace isn’t just about world peace. It begins with peace within us...accepting who we are.

If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace. Thich Nhat Hanh

There is the peace that we teach our children...showing them how to solve their issues with siblings or their peers.

Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence. Henry David Thoreau

Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding. Albert Einstein

Peace in the workplace with co-workers and competitors. Playing fair and accepting your losses with grace.

It is through gratitude for the present moment that the spiritual dimension of life opens up. Eckhart Tolle

Peace with your neighbors, family members, strangers...trying to see things as others see them.

Enjoy a weekend of peace!

Peace, a beautiful word and I hope that we remember that at all time.  Make it a great day Kathy.

Peace with co-workers is one I see agents in our office struggle with. It sucks to lose business to an agent in your office, but there's enough out there for everyone.

It comes down to attitude, Kathy. I met with a rep from Z the other day, and he was talking about "bad"leads. I told them there is no such thing as a bad lead, it's just a client who isn't yet ready to move forward. Someday the client will. So it's not bad.

I hear agents get royally pissed off when they get a call from Z from a potential renter, when we don't work with renters in Sacramento. It's a waste of time to answer the phone for those calls. Comes with the job. But there is no reason to be short or curt with the caller. You can also not make them feel bad for being so stupid as to click on your name, LOL, by saying that stuff happens all the time, and it does . . .

When I hear people say "Peace Out" it diminishes the power of the the word. Reading the quotes you selected reinforced its meaning. Thank you Kathy!

I hope these photos truly reflect the passing of Florence. This is a name I could never kinder to. Granted not a bad name but one I could never whisper with true meaning during the middle of the night. But again, being on the desert of romance I currently exist on, heck I could love Florence warts and all. Hope nothing traumatic happened where you are, cheers cvc

William Feela So many mean spirited people around. We need to seek something else.

Hi Grant Schneider I'm waiting for signs of Fall here.

"Peace isn’t just about world peace. It begins with peace within us...accepting who we are. " so very well said Kathy Streib . If we were all at peace with ourselves we would have world peace.

Wayne Martin it doesn't matter which channel you turn on, I can't stand listening to the shouting and name calling.

Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR We owe it to all of our children.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel That quote is so simple and yet means so much. I would not have guessed it was the first day of Fall if I had not seen the posts here. It's been hotter than it was in August.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD you and Bernie balance each other. I tend to be more like you and thankfully, Larry is like Bernie. We have to learn to treat ourselves with kindness as well. When we do, we are more likely to pass it on to others.

Joan Cox it is getting to be too commonplace.

Carol Williams When we can see what, how and why others think as they do, we may not agree with them but we'll be more accepting.

Michael Jacobs wouldn't you love to have even 20 minutes with him.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents I like that attitude. There's no such thing as a bad lead...perhaps a bad handling of it. That "bad lead" may know someone who they may refer to you because of how they were treated.

Hi Kevin J. May I've never thought about it but very interesting. Peace isn't just about world peace and no war. One thing I didn't like about growing up in the 60's/70's was the "peace out" or "let's rap" slang.

Curtis Van Carter thankfully, she chose not to visit Florida. We are, however, still in hurricane season, so we've always got our eyes open.

My favorite quote is Einstein's - to 'understanding' I would add attitude.

Have a peaceful weekend!

I just went to my 50th class reunion last night.  I'll be headed home shortly, hopefully I'll be there before my wife wakes up.

There's nothing wrong with still celebrating peace.  Perhaps we should celebrate it an hour each day, just so we don't forget.  I like that last photo with the crystal ball, Kathy.
