I have been hearing rumors that Apple is working on a newer version of their popular iPhone. I have been doing some searching online and I have not found anything solid confirming this beyond forum chit chat. If you know anything about the upcoming feature enhancements I would love to hear from you. Some features I would love to see added are video recording, video conferencing like iChat using wifi or cellular broadband and an SD card slot for added storage and ease of transfer.
I'm sure that something must be in the works. It's not like the people at Apple to sit back and be content with the staus quo. Keep us posted if you hear anything.
Susan - There is a 2.0 update for existing phones that is scheduled for later this coming June.
Jim - I Agree. I hope they expand the iPhone the way they updated the iPod line because they truly revolutionized the MP3 player market.

Charles - Great to hear from you and I love that photo you posted last night of the amazing home on acreage...that home is a real showplace. You asked if i was using an iPhone currently and I am not however, I am using the TREO but I also have the iPod Touch which is the wifi device without the phone and camera. I really like it a bunch but the iPhone for me has not had enough new features to warrant making the switch over my TREO. However, if they really do add the iChat feature where I can chat with my office in a video conference format with sound and video I will switch instantly. This will also allow users to use Skype on their phone with wifi and not using your cellular minutes.

If they do, I hope they offer it on more carriers than just AT&T, which is the only thing standing between me and an I-Phone.
I checked with my local Apple store in Los Angeles and was told that a new model will be released in July 2008. I'm currently with T-Mobile but plan to switch to AT&T for the iphone.
I've been reluctant to move from T-Mobile becasue I have one their very early plans which offers 3000 anytime minutes for only $49.99 per month.
Patricia - I will be pleasantly surprised if the iPhone is available in anything beyond AT&T in 2008. AT&T has pumped so much in marketing dollars that I just can't see the relationship parting this fast.
Stewart - That 3000 minute a month plan sounds like a home run deal for $49.99. You might want to hang onto that plan and get a base plan on the iPhone for the iPhone features.

The phone will be announced on June 9th and released my guess is June 15th.
Dropping Verizon for AT&T for an iPhone RIGHT NOW! (Or next week or so anyway!) I have been reading blog after blog and this phone will ROCK! It is worth jumping from which ever carrier you are on to have this piece of work!

It's official - Steve Jobs will announce details of the new phone on Monday.
The new 3rd party software that is being developed for the iPhone should be very exciting.
