While going back and forth with a buyer via text, a buyer who had just made an offer full price on a property sight unseen, a buyer whom I have never met, I received this text:
"Just wanted to say thanks for being so professional and quick to respond. It's been a pleasure working with you."
Texting is wonderful for real estate agents because you can go back and forth and get information that only need short answers. Yes, I'm one of those real estate professionals who like to get back to my clients right away. Texting doesn't need all the extraneous back and forth we have in conversations, texting makes us stay "on point" and, if we have to go back and find something we have already imparted or information given to us, it's quick to scroll through.
And that's not just for clients. Because I have been working with a lot of buyers this year, I started to input listing agents information into my contacts. And now, when I get a text from one of them or need to get in touch with one of them for a current listing, it shows me my past contacts with them. As an aside, know what I find interesting about that? It seems that out of the hundreds of agents in Monterey County, the same few listing agents keep showing up! But that's another story.
Yes, I've had many heartwarming texts from clients, made a lot of phone calls because of them so I could explain whatever seemed to be a problem, written many emails to put information in writing that included attachments or links, and all the other ways we deal with clients on a daily level.
But let's face it, to get compliments on our PROFESSIONALISM is like winning an EMMY, don't you think?
