People are everything. Our most important resource and asset. If you want to be successful in Real Estate you need to improve your networking skills and build relationships. This takes time, but is well worth it.
Building rapport and gaining respect will bring you business and long lasting relationships in your sphere of influence. So many agents want to take the easy route, and purchase buyer or seller leads. Long term that is not going to pay off, because you will always need to purchase leads because you haven't laid the ground work for a referral business.
Building relationships and trust will gain you more business in the long run, more referrals, and a pipeline of continuous business. This is a much better route than just purchasing leads for a quick fix.
We are in the people business, so you better like people and start building relationships early on. This is a key component in building a successful Real Estate business.
It takes a team to get a transaction to the closing table. The Real Estate agents, buyer, seller, lender, inspector, title company, and broker all need to work together to make it happen. Learning how to get along with people and respect what they bring to the table will go a long way in building long term relationships with these people and bring referral business.
