More ideas for making "Blessing Bags" for the homeless

With the colder weather, comes a higher need for us to help the homeless
during the fall and winter months ahead

My Blessing Bag Flyer JUST MY NAME

Like many others, I've often wondered what's the best way to help a homeless person asking for a handout on the street corner. After doing some research, I've learned that the best way to offer help to the homeless is give a "Blessing Bag" filled with an assortment of items.

I suggest you put some of these bags together and keep in your car glovebox and when you see a homeless person you can bless them with some needed items.

I shared the above flyer with some sample bags at my real estate office and inspired many agents to take the time to share these "Blessing Bags" with the local homeless.  Let me know if you would like me to make one of these flyers for you to share in your office.

That's a lovely idea. I'm thinking of way to make it much smaller and keep it in a purse so it's handy while one is walking in a downtown area.

Margaret, another option for a small "blessing bag" is to include a gift card and just use a quart size or sandwich size bag and add a couple of other small items.  FYI, #1 item homeless need is a pair of socks. CVS is a good gift card since they don't sell tobacco products.

Hi Barbara- This would be such an easy thing to assemble and keep handy.

Hi Kathy, you are right. These Blessing Bags are relatively easy to put together. When I'm in the grocery store, I'm on the look out for non=perishable food items I can include. I also buy socks in packages of 6 - 8 and include in each bag. I hope you will be inspired to put together your own Blessing Bags to have available to hand out to the homeless in your area.
