Selling Your Home With Pets

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with THE TEMPLE TEAM

When showing your home to prospective buyers, you want them to be able to picture themselves living in your home. So you sould "de-personalize" your home by removing family pictures, drawings that the kids may have done, just basically anything that is personal and that includes your pet and their items.

Definitely remove the actual pet when having a showing and/or open house and put away their bowls, beds and toys, etc.  It's hard to believe, but not everyone is an animal lover for various reasons like alergies, fear, etc... so my eliminating obvious things visually it can improve your chances of selling your home faster.

While it might not be ideal, it's a temporary inconveniece that may turn out to be well worth it!
