The 2018 Scream Zone Opens Tomorrow in Del Mar CA

Scream Zone 2018 opens tomorrow, September 28th, and will be prepared for scaring young and old alike as it does every year, located at the famed Del Mar Fair Grounds through Halloween October 31st.

Halloween pumpkinsThe Scream Zone has long been a popular, interactive Halloween event in San Diego, and you can expect 2018 to be as scary as ever.

The Scream Zone has a well-earned reputation as the largest, and perhaps scariest, event in the San Diego area. If you like being spooked in more ways than one, this attraction is a “don’t miss!”

Here are 3 hauntingly fun things you can do...

Check out the House of Horror…IF you dare!

Go on a Haunted Hayride with an unknown destination

“Enjoy” KarnEvil, a carnival/freak show

Plus there are other special events on select nights to enjoy, unless it’s too scary for you!

Don’t miss the Halloween Costume Contest on October 31st!

You can order tickets online with varying prices (there is an opening night special, with all 3 Haunts for half price or $17) depending on how scared you want to be.

Scream Zone hours are 7 pm until midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 until 11 PM on Sundays through Thursdays (see schedule below):

Scream Zone dates are:

Sept. 28 & 29
Oct. 4 - 7
Oct. 10 - 14
Oct. 17 - 21

Oct. 24 – 31

The Scream Zone is located at the Del Mar Fair Grounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard at the corner of Via de la Valle off the 5 freeway to the west. Call 858-755-1161 for more information.

Parking is free through the main fair grounds entrance off Jimmy Durante Blvd.

Good morning, Jeff... I've personally never been a fan of going to these kinds of "scary" events, but we have them in the Charlotte area in droves and they are very popular!

I'm with Nina Hollander - not my cup of tea either. But, I know they are extremely popular with many.  Hard to believe it's almost time for trick or treat. D

Jeff, I used to love going to scary events and now I just get too scared. I wish I had the courage to go because I know how fun they can be. The Haunted Hayride with an unknown destination caught my eye. This will without a doubt be well attended!

Jeff it is hard to believe that Halloween is right around the corner, and the little goblins will be knocking at my door again.

As a kid Halloween was my second favorite holiday and I loved trick or treating. Things are different now.

Oh, the kids LOVE these events here too, Jeff! We have one very similar (the area's largest one) at Carowinds, which is right on the state line. So, it is well-attended each and every year. My boys ALWAYS wanted to go and I believe one of them went as recently as last year! We're all kids at heart, right?!!
