Have you ever heard of HealthyWage? I was surprised to see that this company is funded by the government, insurers, and hospitals.
HealthyWage is a health and wellness company that provides weight loss and fitness challenges with cash prizes. It was founded in response to academic research that proves cash rewards can triple the effectiveness of weight loss programs.
People are more effective at losing weight when their own money is at risk.
What really intrigued me is when I heard the story of Anastasia who won $10,000 by losing 41 lbs.
Here's How it Works:
- Enter how much weight you want to lose in the HealthyWage Prize Calculator
- The timeframe to lose it
- And how much you want to bet each month for that period
- The calculator determines your prize amount, up to $10,000. You can play around with the calculator until you get your desired prize amount.
Anastasia figured out how much money she needed to bet and for how long to get to $10,000. She bet $167 a month for an 18-month period to lose her desired weight of 41 lbs. At the end of her challenge, she received the $3,006 she invested along with the $6,994 profit from HealthyWage.
Anastasia thought the $167 monthly bet seemed appropriate since that's was about the same amount she spent dining out each month.
This is something I'd definitely try, and having my money at risk is definitely motivation to lose some unwanted weight.
I'm starting to find out that there are many ways to make money outside of my main hustle.
HealthyWage has been around since 2009, but I've never heard of it until recently. Is this the type of motivation you need to lose weight?
Would you put your money on the line? If you don't meet your weight goals at the end of the challenge, you'll lose that money.
