Lola, after much hard work and persistance, had received approval from the state of
Michigan for her Blogging and Web 2.0 for real estate professionals continual education
Gwyn would be teaching the Code of Ethics class that would give professionals both of
the required 2 hour legal updates credit and the NAR required 2nd cycle of Quadrennial
When I read about their combined classes I knew I had to make the effort to be there
for many personal reasons:
Typically, the required con-ed classes are not enriching, and I want the time I spend
in a class to be educational and memorable.
No one on our side of the state is talking about blogging, let alone being
persistant and caring enough to push the state to see the importance of education
in this growing field of communicating with the public.
I wanted to meet a lady that I have admired and considered a mentor (though she
didn't know it) from the moment that I first read her words.
Yesterday morning I was full of excitement: I would finally meet Lola in person AND
I was going to attend continuing education classes that I knew instinctively would be
classes that I would remember. I left my home at 4:30 in the morning and made
the drive to Grand Rapids MI arriving in plenty of time for registration. Lola greeted
me with a hug, a cheerful smile and a warm welcome. I truly felt as if I was seeing an
The first of the 2 classes that Lola instructed kept me entranced. Not only is Lola a
fabulous public speaker, but the material that she put together for the Blogging and
Web 2.0 for Real Estate Professionals were right on the mark and what I had expected.
The second of Lolas classes was more in depth and also very well written and full of
information for not only the beginning blogger but also for those who have been blogging
for a bit.
Gwyns class was equally interesting and full of energy. This was the first time I had
attending one of her classes as well, and I was not disappointed. She has a way of
keeping you on your toes and engaged in the teaching and gets all of her points
across very thoroughly.
For those of you in Michigan who have not fulfilled your continuing education requirements
as of yet I highly recommend taking the extra time to attend one of Lolas and Gwyns
classes. Too often the classes that we attend are an old repeat of previous classes
with just a bit of newness thrown in to meet state requirements and don't hold our interest.
This was not the case with Lola and Gwyn and their classes.
Not only are they teachers but they cover very relevant material.
I thought about the classes the entire trip home. That hadn't happened after any of my
previous classes. How many of you can say the same after attending what is mandatory
training in our profession?
Below is the contact information for Lola and Gwyn. Please call them if you are interested
in attending one or more of their classes this year. You won't be disappointed.
