Olga Yurevna was born in Bugulma, Russia back in 1960. In 1979, she graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture with a degree in Choir and Conducting. For several years she was a singing-master and history teacher. She continued her education graduating from the Moscow State University for Humanities.
In 1987, she switched her major to history earning her a Ph.D. In 2007, she worked for the Department for Culture of the Russian Government. In 2016, she was appointed the Minister of Education, in 2018, she took over as the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation.
What you may not know about Olga Yurevna Vasilieva is that she is the first female to head that department. She’s alive and doing well.
