How names fall into place.

 Ever wonder how a product gets it's name?

And why some products become a  house hold name.

Sometimes the names take a long time to formulate.

Other times they just fall into place.

Many times those name become copied by generic products.

 This is one of the products.

I have learned that a well stocked tool box has bungee cords, duck tape, and zip ties.  I suspect that "Duck Tape" got its name because it is actually "Duct Tape."

Good one William. I know some people who actually refer to it as "duck" instead of "duct" tape. Go figure

I have my own roll of it so when I need it, I can find it. It is a very useful product on many things.

I do know where it got it's name. It is a mechanical tape originally used to piece together or strap the sections of HVAC ductwork one to another. The silver color blended in with the sheet metal color so it was more unitform looking. It has heavy lasting power.
