The other day a question was asked in Q&A about where we would own a second home if we had the opportunity. I had two answers: Spain (exact location unknown) and Stanley, Idaho. These two places have my heart and I feel at home when I am there. Lucky for me one of my two favorite places in the entire world is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from where I currently live. Here is a photo from when we visited this summer:

For me it would be my birthplace - Hawaii. The Islands call my heart and soul. Just not sure how many T-shirts I could sell on the beach. :)

Belinda Spillman, what a great place to be born and to call your heart! I went to Maui when I was 6 years old. Only time I've been to any of the Islands. I have great memories and still can remember a lot of it even though I was so young. -Kasey
Ron and Alexandra Seigel, though I am not familiar with Carpenteria, I love visiting Santa Barbara! A Mediterranean cruise is on my bucket list so I can visit a bunch of places in a short time. I have been thinking about when the best year would be to do it with my young girls. They are getting old enough that soon they would appreciate it. I've not yet been to Italy, though I've spent a lot of time in Spain, and on the other side of the sea in Israel and Egypt. -Kasey

Such a beautiful place, it is easy to see why you would want to live there! I love it here in Arizona, so I think I will stay, but if I could have a 2nd home in Flagstaff, I would really enjoy spending the summer months there.

Hi Kasey, I'm very happy living in Charlotte... as we chose to move there. But if money were no object, I'd split my time between NYC and Paris... my two "hometowns."

Dear Kasey & John,
In Spain, you may like Cerdanya or Ripolles in the Pyrenees. They have milking horses with little bells around their necks running around in the mountains. Spain is very kid-friendly & has great coffee.
Dorte, when I was in Spain we hiked the Pyrenes. I've never been to France but I've seen it from a mountaintop! What you are describing sounds neat. And I agree, great coffee! -Kasey
