Back To The Old Address Book…
It just may come down to this. Since the digital cloud, etc, I’ve done my best to adapt and do away with as much paper as I could. That said, I always have back-ups and believe in redundancy.
However, I spent almost one and one-half hours on the phone with Apple Support trying to figure out what happened to several of my contacts.
Last week I received a text from the “713” area code but no name was attached to it. When I opened the text there was a thread that I’d sent to a good friend in Houston. What had happened to her information?
When I went to my Contacts, she was nowhere to be found.
Since then I’ve discovered 4 more contacts who are not on my phone or in my contacts in the Cloud. I will have no idea how many other contacts may have vanished until I either go to look for them or someone on the missing list contacts me.
While I was on the phone with the first customer support person, I mumbled something about going back to an old-fashioned address book. To my surprise, she said that it was something that she herself might look into!
At any rate, we toggled, and restored, and searched and looked but no one has come up with an answer. |
My thought was that it had something to do with the recent IOS12 update but had no verification of that.
I did find a post on some solutions when I searched the web and after trying one of the solutions, I did find some of my missing contacts.
I have decided not to sweat the small stuff because it’s just not worth it.
I am considering dusting off my trusty book that has always served me well. It's over 20+ years old but the pages are still there.
