Okay, first off...this is an odd post, but so fitting with October being full of witchcraft, spiders, creepy things and such.
(Stay with me, it's worth watching the included video).
I was on my front porch sitting on my papasan relaxing, and when I got up, I happened to notice (thank God) that there was a fairly sizeable spider hanging out with me!
Being afraid of spiders, I immediately parked him on the lawn down the front steps. I watched him turn in the exact direction of where he'd been as he ceremoniously made his way back to his original "post", a wooden log that is part of our newish log porch built earlier this year. I found it fascinating that he was so diligent in making his way back there, and persevered even though he found it difficult to navigate the vertical sides of many of my pots on his path home. Eventually, he made it home and seemed to be quite exhausted. So, I took photos of him in his static state. (Of course! I'm always intrigued by nature).
In trying to discover what kind of spider he is, I happened upon this video below. Gotta say, I was drawn in as if it were truly spider research. Even if you don't like spiders (I don't, either, but am morbidly fascinated none-the-less), please watch this...and you will discover for yourself how pleasantly surprising this tongue-in-cheek mockumentary of spiders' behaviors is while they are"under the influence".
It caught me in its web....
a good laugh!
