Hurricane Michael Heading Toward Charlotte

As if Hurricane Florence wasn't enough just a couple of weeks ago, Hurricane Michael is expected to arrive in the Charlotte area at approximately 8:00 am on Thursday, October 11th as a tropical storm and move through and out of the area by 8:00 pm. With the Charlotte region expecting from 3 to 5 inches of rain and 35 mph wind gusts, be aware of possible flash flooding, as well as downed trees and power lines.

Charlotte residents should stay aware and safe and be prepared. Don't take uneeded chances, don't drive through standing water. Click here for hurricane preparedness tips from Charlotte/Mecklenburg and the CDC.

Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers are with all those in Florida and Georgia who have already felt the brunt force of Hurricane Michael.

Barbara Todaro hi Barbara... I think Florence hit NC harder than SC, but now SC might be being hit harder by Michael. Crazy times... I, on the other hand, am totally safe as I'm still in Russia and my husband has not told me that the roof has blown off our house or any trees toppled in our yard. So I guess, so far, so good.

William Feela truer words have not been spoken... in NC we do not need more torrential rains. Let's hope it's the last storm of the season.

I just talked to a friend in Raleigh and she said it wasn't too bad, thank goodness. Poor Florida and Southern Georgia got a big hit.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... more torrential rain was certainly not what the Charlotte region or NC needed. But it could be a lot worse.

Debbie Reynolds hi Debbie... Florence didn't hurt Florida and Georgia overly much a few weeks ago, so I guess it was now their "turn," although no one really needed a turn at bat for this kind of devastation.

Hi George... every time I hear news about something like this affecting SC, I think of you and your son. I also am praying that he and his family are just fine.
