Pretty and Practical - Storage Ideas For Your Home

Home Builder with Women of Westchester Working Together

Hey, it's Dagmar again! Please do me a quick favor! If you are home right now take a look around you! Is everything organized, nothing in an odd place? Great, I truly admire you because when I look around in my house I constantly see room for improvement, especially when it comes to organizing. That's why I brainstormed ideas how to add storage to my home and how to display the things that are dear to me in the best possible way. You can find all posts about storage ideas on my blog but let me give you a quick summary for starters. By the way, I also post my favorite pics on Pinterest

Do you hate those shoes lying around on the floor of your entryway but don't have enough space for an extra shoe cabinet? Why don't you get a bench with baskets underneath. It looks pretty and is practical.

And what about those spices that don't fit in your spice rack anymore? I put an extra shelf on the INSIDE of my kitchen cabinet door and got an enormous amount of extra storage for all those little bottles.

Are you tired of picking up children's books off the floor? Display them with the title page facing your little ones, so they see right away which book it is and can pick without pulling it out first.

My absolute favorite which I first saw in one of those documentaries about tiny houses is the storage space under the staircase. I admit, it's involved to build but once it's done you'll have sheer endless room and just have to pull out the drawers next to your staircase.

If you love DIY projects and work with yarn and ribbons a lot, this is the perfect way of storing your balls of wool, string and cord - just put them in a funnel and mount it to the wall of your workspace.

Maybe all these ideas will inspire you to organize or declutter. I´d be happy if I helped you a little making that decision!
