The name Oceanside says it all. The city next to the Ocean. One historical landmark is the Oceanside Pier. It is one of the longest piers in California. The entrance to the amphitheater is right next to it, which hosts many musical and cultural events.
Walk down to the end of the pier and you will find Ruby’s Dinner with great views of the ocean. The Oceanside Harbor is a very special place to visit. It offers waterfront dining, sports fishing, gift shops, and stand up paddle boarding.
This harbor has a classic Cape Cod theme. One of the exceptional destinations is the Mission San Luis Rey. The museums display the history of the American Indians and the Spanish founders all dating back to the year 1798.
The grounds and landscaping are a must to see along with the architecture of the period. The Boutiques Lagoon is located just south of Oceanside and contains 2-mile hiking trail. This coastal wetland is very scenic with a nature center. Close by for the children you have Legoland a large theme and amusement park. There is still some affordable housing in the area with the median home price coming in at $525,000 and the median rent at $2595/mo.
It is one of the few areas with land available for new construction. There is no shortage of shopping malls in the area. Here are just a few of the major shopping malls in the area, El Camino North, Rancho Del Oro Gateway Town Center North, and Carlsbad Plaza South Shopping Center.
It is a golfers dream with three major courses in the area, Oceanside Golf Course, Arrowood Golf Course, and Emerald Isle Golf Course. Oceanside has a lot to offer if you want to make a destination for a vacation or call it home.
