Yesterday I woke up early, drove to Alexandria, Virginia which is just over 90 minutes away at rush hour to let a cleaning crew into a condo.
Actually it started the day before when I woke up early and drove the 90+minutes to Alexandria, Virginia for a walk-through of a beautiful end-unit townhouse my client was about to buy. This was one of those rare times when a buyer client and the buyer's agent both see the home and KNOW it is THE ONE and immediately put together a plan to WIN IT!
Even though my client did not want to own two homes at one time, she didn't want strangers coming to see the home where her newly sdopted dog would be disturbed. So...
We did the walk-through and closing in the morning and then she ran home to meet the movers and locksmith.
I returned to my office and printed out a hundred flyers with the only picture I had - a picture of the front of the building. I spent the evening slipping flyers under the doors of the residents in the condo buidling, inviting them to take a sneak peek of the property before it was on the market. Then I went home, worked late, packed my car with staging supplies and signs and went to bed.
The next morning, I woke up early, drove to Alexandria, Virginia which is just over 90 minutes away at rush hour to let a cleaning crew into a condo by 8:30 am. As they were cleaning, I was carrying the staging supplies from my truck, up to the building, in the elevator and into the empty and almost-clean room.
I had about three hours to transform the property! Photos at 12:30!
The next few hours were spent rearranging furniture, placing pillows, swapping out curtains, scrubbed wall marks away, and placed items around the home to liven it up. The photographer arrived right on time and was out quickly. I decided it was time to eat.
Next Stop - to the grocer and bought supplies for the Happy Hour Open. I put up signs, and put some last minute touches around the home. Once the music started playing, the residents started arriving and We were in full swing.
After the long ride home and a quick bite I reviewed the pictures, posted the listing online and went to bed.
Curious what the home looked like after the Whirlwind of a day?
