I love home decor...and as a Realtor I get the perks of seeing homes beautifully furnished.
Someone asked me recently "does a vacant home hurt a sale ? "
Good question !
Some buyers are not "visual" or able to see themselves in a home with their furniture unless they can see a home furnished to confirm it can fit their big bed or big sofa.
I remind buyers that the furnishings are not coming with the house so if the seller is decorating traditional it doesn't mean the house wont look great with craftsman or coastal.
Touring a vacant home can be better for others as they will walk through a room pointing out where their pieces will fit. They can visualize.
So, to answer-- everyone is different !
In this photo is a full brick wall ( not just fireplace). I love this photo !
It is current with modern colors and by painting that brick focal wall it brightens the room but still gives the texture and shows off the fireplace. This more than likely is an older home where buyer envisioned that wall white and fresh neutrals ( gray and beige) to make the room feel bigger and brighter.
My point:
When buying, take into consideration dimensions of a room, then look at it from a fresh view point- different paint maybe, or flooring.. new fan or removal of heavy drapes or too much clutter.
This could be your dream home you just weren't "seeing it " due to the way the owners live in it .
I'd love to help you explore Greenville NC homes !
