The Neighbourhood
Terwillegar Towne is located in the Riverbend area of Edmonton. It is bordered by Terwillegar Drive to the west, 23 Avenue on the north, Rabbit Hill Road on the east and Terwillegar Boulevard to the south. The neighbourhood was laid out to encourage pedestrian use and buidings are designed in a neo-traditional style, to create the feel of a small town. There are many character homes near the centre of the community. The Terwillegar Gardens area on the east side of the community features large homes overlooking the Terwillegar Towne Neighbourhood Park, with its attractive pond.
Terwillegar Towne was developed between 1990 and 2010. The area was named after Dr. Norman Terwillegar who was a prominent healthcare provider and resident of the area in the early 1900s.
The population of Terwillegar Towne is approximately 6,500 and there are 2,100 residences. Most homes are single family (80%), duplexes (7%), townhomes and low-rise condominiums.
Schools and Amenities
The neighbourhood features two parks, the Towne Square and commercial services along the main streets and in the town centre. There are two schools within the community, Ester Starkman (K to Grade 8) and Monsignor William Irwin (K to Grade 6). Lillian Osborne High School is one block north of the community.
The large Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre located next to Lillian Osborne school features an aquatic centre, fitness, sports, wellness, arts and leadership programs.

The Terwillegar Towne residential market September sales were stronger than last year. There were more single family homes sold compared to town homes, which is reflected in the higher average price data. Average time on the maket for September sales was 10 weeks. Months of supply indicates a transition to a seller's market.
